Chef Terik (11/29/17) Review

Chef Terik put on quite a performance during hit show Tasty Terik on DubTV episode 509. The episode starts off strong with Chef Terik walking in looking fly to the song Youngest Flexer by Lil Pump. Chef Terik gives Pump some serious competition for the youngest flexer title, walking in wearing Timbs, a Gucci belt, two different watches, sunglasses despite being inside, his Chef hat, and a gold chain showing under his crisp white chef shirt. He speaks as if he is on a show called DubTV Cribs, which does not actually exist. He proceeds to show off his “crib”, which is really just the school lunchroom.

The real surprise comes when Chef Terik finds an eviction notice. Initially he does not know what it is due to the fact he does not know how to read. This is not due to ignorance or language barriers, he just has so much money that he always could have someone read for him. After speaking to his lawyer and learning he was getting kicked out of his kitchen. We see heartbreaking shots of Chef Terik making his exit and possibly giving up cooking entirely, as he throws his chef hat and his box of “chef stuff” in the trash.

This episode was a change from the previous method of doing ridiculous things with food but included more of a plot. Whether or not one prefers one type of episode over the other is up to them, but the show seems to be headed in a completely new direction.

The episode was well received. Brian Carlson, ‘18, said, “Tasty Terik was an extremely well put together great humor definitely going to be remembered as the face of this year’s show.” Terik Priest, ‘18, made a bold prediction about the future of the show, saying, “Tasty Terik is finally dead, GG.” There was valid criticism though. Kellianne Burke, ‘18, stated, “The only note I have would be that the phone seen was kind of long, it could have used some different angles.” After speaking with the Tasty Terik team it is clear they know what they need to improve and what to continue doing, and will hopefully continue to produce quality episodes.
