Apple Event 2018

On Tuesday 27th 2018, Camille Argentar and this reporter were honored to be able to attend the Apple Keynote at Lane Tech High School. Although they are our school rivals, the huge school on Western Avenue was a very fun venue for the event. When we arrived, we were greeted by many smiling faces. On top of the great personalities, every single worker who was helping out with the event wore a green coat with a yellow apple on the chest and a yellow beanie so they were definitely in the Lane Tech spirit. Camille and I were overwhelmed by how welcoming each of the workers of the event wase and how happy and willing to help they all were considering it was 8:00 am on a rainy Tuesday morning. After we checked in, we got these cool badges with a yellow apple on them which I believed meant that we were  a part of the media. This was very awesome to me that they considered us as one of the hundreds of adults in the school for the press release, instead of mere high schoolers. Once we got inside, we went to an area with scones, juices, and other breakfast foods and chit-chatted for about twenty minutes before we were escorted to the auditorium. Here, we learned all about the new iPad which was specifically designed for in classroom learning. This is why they held the event in a high school and named it “Let’s Take a Field Trip.” To me, this new iPad is the same with just a few added tweaks for teachers and kids to have a hands on learning experience with this new technology that matches the growth of today’s society. The iPad also comes with an Apple Pencil which has super precision and great compatibility with the iPad’s screen. They also released a few new apps for learning on the iPad which will help students and teachers be on the same page when it comes to due dates, in class work, projects, and homework. All in all the experience was a great one and it was great to see so many news anchors, journalists, and reporters from all around the world at this one event.
