Breaking News: Whitney Young has a New Pair of Secret Lovers (Bacon)

    Breaking+News%3A+Whitney+Young+has+a+New+Pair+of+Secret+Lovers+%28Bacon%29

The halls of Whitney Young Magnet High School have been buzzing lately, but today we have received some of the juiciest news by far. Our esteemed mascot, Flip the Dolphin, and the bridge’s new addition, Pookie Bear, have been caught in a dating scandal that has left the school speechless. Flip is always busy cheering on our student athletes in the gym building and attending school events. Pookie Bear is a transfer, arriving at the school just a few months ago. Even though she’s become quite popular, she’s quiet and keeps to herself on the Arts Bridge, quite the opposite of Flip, who is full of energy and unwavering school spirit. So, what’s the whole deal with these two?

To the school community, it appears that these two don’t cross paths at all, that is, until the two were caught holding hands in the maze. We spoke to janitor Link Powell, who saw them together. “As I was walking through the Arts Building, I heard noises and saw Flip and Pookie Bear looking into each other’s eyes, holding hands, and singing the school song together in the choir room. I could just feel the romantic vibes, but I do admit it sounded a bit strange; whistles and growls don’t make a nice harmony.” The news about the sighting of Flip and Pookie has sparked a lot of questions. Is this interspecies couple the real deal, or is it an end-of-year fling? “Whitney Young has seen its fair share of power couples, but I think if this one works out, it will be legendary,” said Scarlett Peng (‘24).

One of our interviewers, “Willy” Mozqueda-Rivera, tried to interview Flip the Dolphin while he was running laps at the Michelle Obama Athletic Field. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to, as he was quickly surrounded by his bodyguards, Ms. Gayles and the student council. Willy tried interviewing Ms. Pookie Bear, but despite his best efforts, she remained still and silent. As the days inch closer to the last day of school, we remain curious. Will we see more from this couple in the future? Perhaps they’ll make a public statement about their secret love, but one thing’s for sure: this couple proves that love really has no bounds.
