Food Review: NYC Bagel Deli

Dearborn Plys

Chicago has always been a difficult place to find a good bagel. Wherever you go, the bagel is  either too soft or like a rock or it’s in the suburbs. Luckily, with three locations and whole lot of bagels, NYC Bagel Deli has got you covered whether you want a plain bagel or a glorious mountain of lox, cream cheese, cucumber, tomato, and onion. Plus, even if you’re not in the mood for bagels, they also have NYC style pizza by the slice.

Sophia Pena, ‘18 is one satisfied customer who says,“I got a jalapeno bagel and it was worth it, fast service too.”

Pros: The bagels have a nice texture, not too chewy, not too crumbly, and the service is speedy. They also have a wide variety of vegetarian options. For the student budget and schedule, NYC is open early and if you’re already buying breakfast you can get a bagel with cream cheese for less than the price of a latte at Starbucks.

Cons: Not the most conveniently located for most people commuting on public transit unless you happen to live near one of their locations.  As a side note, if you’re planning on finally asking that special someone to go to homecoming with you, I wouldn’t recommend getting the chive spread.
