Last Minute Halloween Costume Ideas

Kellianne Bazzell

It’s Halloween today and if you’re not a senior who’s racing to finish their college applications right now, you might want to take part in the fun tonight by going trick-or-treating or to a party! If you (and maybe your group of friends) left deciding your costume to the last minute, here’s a list of some pretty easy costumes that are fun and relevant.

*Please remember to be respectful of all races, ethnicities, cultures, religions, sexualities, genders, etc. with you costumes.

Group Costumes (many of these you could still just go solo as a character from the show):

1: Stranger Things

This is a great time to go as the kids from Stranger Things since almost everyone is all hyped up about the second season having just come out. Any of the characters from the show are pretty easy to dress up as since they wear regular clothing.

2: Mean Girls

A fun and really easy costume is the “On Wednesdays We Wear Pink” look. All your group has to do is wear all pink except for whoever is going as Lindsay Lohan, who wears red instead.

3: Rick and Morty

This is a fun costume since there are so many different variations of the characters you can do. There’s regular Rick and Morty, Pickle Rick, Evil Morty, etc. And no matter how many people are in you group, it still makes sense if you all dress up as the two characters since the show is interdimensional.

4: Pacman

This is a great costume to wear at school with your friends because when you see each other in the hallways you can play the game and chase each other down. All you need are the correctly colored shirts, some construction paper to cut out the facial features, and safety pins to pin them down to the shirts.

5: The Proud Family

It always fun to dress up as the characters of the shows you watched as a kid. This a good group costume because it’s easy to find the clothes for the costumes.

6: Kim Possible

Another childhood cartoon that would fun to dress up as. Some of their clothing might be a little more difficult to find in your closet, but to help make your character more identifiable you can add things like the naked mole rat, rufus, or Kim’s cellphone thing that she uses to talk to Wade.

7: Sims

This is a super easy costume. You and your friends can wear whatever for the clothes because the only part that matters is attaching the green diamond to the top of your head. You can do this by attaching some wire to a headband and taping/gluing a paper made diamond to the top of it.

8: Beanie Babies

All you have to do for this costume is dress up as an animal (simple face paint helps a lot with this), print out a picture of the beanie babies logo, and tape/pin it onto you.

Solo Costumes:

1: IT kid.

This is a fun costume that will probably get a lot of attention. The best part is that it’s super easy to make. All you need is a yellow raincoat, a paper folded sail boat, some blue jeans, rain boots, and a red balloon to carry around with you.

2: Domo

This character is a great costume particularly because it’s so easy to make. All you need is a big cardboard box, construction paper, and glue/tape. If you cut out two eyes with black paper and a set of triangle teeth using white paper. Glue/tape the teeth to a red sheet of construction paper and then the red sheet and black eyes onto the box and your costume is all done!

3: Shadow

This costume is probably the easiest of them all. All you have to do is dress from head to toe in all black clothing.

4: Waldo

For this costume all you need is a red and white striped shirt, some blue jeans, a red and white striped hat (preferably one with a pom pom on top), and a brown cane to carry at your side.

Hopefully some these ideas were helpful to you and maybe your friends! Have a fantastic Halloween!
