“Stressed Backwards Spells Desserts”
November 14, 2016
After a long day of school there’s nothing any student wants more than to unwind and snack. Well, every Tuesday after school, students can have that opportunity with the Whitney Young Pastry Club. The meetings are held at 3:30pm in room 114. From oreo cupcakes to lemon bars, and carrot cake to cream cheese muffins, this club gives students the opportunity to experience baking tasty treats and make some new friends as well.
The club’s executive board consist of President Lizette Arroyo ‘18, Vice President Sabrina Wu ‘17, Treasurer Ajwa Eazad ‘18, and Secretary Melissa Muñoz ‘18. This team of excellent students is waiting with open arms for new members every week. Vice President Sabrina Wu ‘17 states, “our club is all about teaching students how to bake their favorite pastries/desserts and learn about new ones they might not have heard of.” All students of all grade levels are encouraged to come and learn all the nifty baking techniques, and even share some of their own. According to President Lizette, “Pastry Club is THE club to join at Whitney Young because who doesn’t want some food? After all, desserts spelled backwards is stressed so come relieve it by coming to our club.”
This club has an open door policy so all students are welcome to join. Secretary Melissa Muñoz ‘18 adds, “you can just show up to any one of our meetings. Don’t be scared to pop on by, take a look, and know what it’s all about.” Experience is not required to join, it’s all about learning. If students have any more questions, the teacher sponsors are Ms. Johnson and Mr. Tyrpin or talk to any executive board member directly. If students are still too shy, feel free to email the Pastry Club at [email protected]. Interested? Come down to room 114 on Tuesday to see what the club is working on next week!

Hi I just had to comment on your article about pastry club about the lines and who said them I just wanted to say that I was the one who said ALL those lines and the people you mentioned JUST SENT them in and I am sort of offended i wasn’t mentioned at all when I did all the work and got no credit. I’m don’t want to come off as rude or mean but I just wanted you to know because I know you aren’t much at fault because you didn’t know who said them but next time just make sure you know who did the work and have them properly mentioned.

I’m sorry. I will change it immediately. I was going based off of what was sent to me. I will make sure you receive the proper credit. Please feel free to email me directly so I can fix it in a much more timely manner [email protected]. My email is always open for any feedback.
