From December 23rd  to January 2nd. all Chicago Public Schools will be on winter break. Note that students will return on January 2, instead of on the 6th as it was previously before the strike make up days were added. Over winter break some students will celebrate Hannukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa and the New Year. Many students are anxiously awaiting the break. As the break gets closer more and more students are becoming increasingly more restless and excited for the break.

When asked what they were most excited about many students were excited for the activities they had planned to do over break. Some are taking a vacation to visit family, like Abigail Winn ‘22, who is excited about, “Going to visit my family in Georgia. It’s absolutely beautiful there. They have mountains and I love going hiking.” Other students are excited about spending time with people they care about, such as Ferrnando Moya ‘20, who said he was excited about, “Spending time with family and friends.” Jay Chen ‘21, is most excited about “Staying warm inside.” Make sure to stay safe and have fun over the winter break!
