Things to Do During Spring Break

Jai Primer

Spring break is coming up soon, and if you are unlucky enough to be spending it in Chicago, the Beacon came up with a few ideas to pass the time. Ally Mitola 18’ says “Yeah, it sucks that I’ll be here for spring break.” Spring Break serves as the perfect time to visit some our city’s best museums. You may have forgotten about the Museum of Science and Industry, which is the largest science museum on the Western Hemisphere. They have a bunch of really classic exhibits like the baby chicks and the U-505 submarine, as well as exclusive exhibits like Brick by Brick, which features legos. You could also relax in the Giant Dome Theater during one of the interesting scientific movies like Oceans: Our Planet.

Kennedy Hayes 18’ says that “[she] doesn’t mind staying home for this spring break, because it has been a busy year for seniors and [she] has to get things done.” In between working hard, you can take some time to visit some of the city’s best restaurants. Chicago Food Planet, a Chicago based company, has some really awesome food tours. Food tours are essentially events where you go around and visit a few of the city’s best restaurants and taste some of their signature dishes. Some of their March tours include Chinatown Adventure, where you visit 5 of the best restaurants in Chicago’s Chinatown, and Best In Chow, where you taste iconic Chicago dishes from downtown restaurants. No matter what you decide, I’m sure you will have a great spring break.
