Coffeehouse is Whitney Young’s open mic night, run by students for students. You might have seen the school wallsplastered with poster after poster of performers next to bold text saying “sign up!” Every month students from all grades sign up to perform on the Coffeehouse stage and pour their hearts out to a waiting audience.

Last Friday, Coffeehouse kicked off the 2017-18 season with a 13 set show. Acts ranged from solo artists playing acoustic guitar to Byrdzu, a four piece metal/fusion band that played a rockin’ cover of Adele’s “Someone Like You.”

Coffeehouse Crew President Lily Everett ’19 had this to say about the upcoming season: “I’m excited to get to see new performers and put on a good show.”

Coffeehouse is on the last Friday of every month in the Orchestra room. Admission is $2, coffee and tea are free. Sign up to perform!
