May 17, 2017
Taylor Swift never misses a beat, she is lightning on her feet, she is the artist behind the
best selling album of 2014, the winner of 6 Grammys, and was a finalist for Time Magazine’s
2014 Person of the Year. Although she is known for singing songs about her previous
boyfriends, there is so much more to Taylor Swift than just the men she writes about. Swift has a
positive impact on her fans and society; she is a great role model and a powerful force in the
music industry. Taylor Swift appeals to a wide range audience made up of teenagers, young
adults, moms, and little girls, which makes her influence that much more effective.
Great Role Model
1. Throughout her fame she has been able to maintain a respectable image. As a celebrity who
knows her fans, and the kind of impact she has on them, she keeps it classy. She dresses her
age; for example, up until last year no photographer had ever gotten a picture of her showing
her belly button, and when the pictures did come out it was because she took them and
released them herself. Also during a time when celebrity nude photos were popular, a group
of hackers told Taylor to pay them or else they would leak hers. Taylor responded back with
“PS any hackers saying they have ‘nudes’? Psssh you’d love that wouldn’t you! Have fun
photoshopping cause you got NOTHING”. Taylor Swift is aware of her actions and has
nothing to hide from her fans. She is an open book waiting to be read. She is known as the
goody two shoes of Hollywood, and rightfully so.
She cares about her fans
2. Taylor has spoken numerous times against bullying, and even responded to a fan on
Instagram when she asked her a question about bullying. Taylor is the kind of celebrity that
any mom would be ok with her daughter liking, because she is a genuinely good person. Last
summer, she went to the Boston Children’s Hospital to visit a fan suffering from Williams
syndrome and leukemia, and together they sang “We Are Never Ever Getting Back
Together”.
Strong Independent Woman
3. Although she is known as the girl who writes songs about her ex boyfriends, she does not
define herself by the man she is going out with, nor does she let her breakups get the best of
her. Other artists like Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez have allowed their breakups to impact
them negatively. Selena Gomez was said to have gone to rehab to deal with the emotional
stress of her breakup with Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato was sent to rehab for drugs and
alcohol, supposedly as a result of her breakup with Joe Jonas. Instead, Taylor is the
Rumpelstiltskin of music, like turning straw into gold, she has used her breakups as
inspirations for her songs, and has channeled her emotions in a positive way to create great
music. Taylor is setting a fine example for young ladies dealing with boy problems, she lets
them know it’s ok to feel heartbroken but there’s a proper way to deal with it.
Her Music is super relatable for everyone
4. Taylor Swift is a powerful force in the music industry, and has obtained her success by
making good quality music. She does not use profanity or project inappropriate messages in
her songs. Her music is based on her feelings, personal experiences, and is just feel good
music that anyone can jam out too. Taylor sings about such familiar feelings that anyone can
relate to. In the song “Shake it off” Swift is literally telling her fans to shake off their haters.
She acknowledges the fact that people say she dates too many guys and she can’t dance, but
through all the criticisms she embraces herself and all her quirks, and you can’t help but
laugh when you watch the music video. This song is like an anthem for young girls
everywhere, Taylor is saying it’s ok to be different and to be you, which is exactly the type of
messages that female artists should project in their music; songs that empower women.
5. Taylor Swift is a hurricane in the music industry. She is so powerful and really is a force to
be reckon with. She produced her first album when she was only 16 years old, and her
second album Fearless won a Grammy for Album of the Year, she was also the youngest
artist to win this award. All of her albums (5) have been number one on the top one hundred
billboard at least once, and her album 1989 was the best selling album of 2014, the biggest
album debut since 2002, and the second biggest album debut for a female artist. And if that
wasn’t enough, she was also a finalist for the title of Time Magazine’s 2014 Person of the
Year. All of these accomplishments show that Taylor Swift really is an outstanding artist. She
has earned all of these accomplishments through hard work and staying true to her brand.
