Clash Royale is a free mobile game available for IOS and Android devices.  It is a relatively new game launched on January 4, 2016.  Royale was developed by Supercell, the creators of Clash of Clans.  The Clash Royale website says “Royale is a fast paced, card based PvP brawler. Collect Clash troops, and use them to wreak havoc on your opponent’s towers!”  This game is rated for children ages nine and up due to “Mild Cartoon or Fantasy Violence, but you must be at least 13 years of age to play or download Clash Royale.  Cary Nowacki 22’ said “My mom doesn’t allow me to download the app.”  Andrew Ragins ‘17 said, “It’s just fun because it doesn’t take that much time and I can play it during class.”

Supercell is constantly updating the game with new content to keep the players interested.  Even though Clash Royale is a free to play app, it is number 1 on Top Grossing on the IOS App Store.  This is because of all the in-app purchases.  You can spend real money to gems, which can be used to buy Chest.  A Giant Chest cost you 5 Dollars while a Super Magical Chest will cost you over 30 dollars.  The chest contain cards that you can use to battle.  It could take thousands of dollars to fully max an account.  It is possible to max your account by not spending any money, as Sean Chen ‘20 says, “I’m a free to play player, I know that I will be able to finish maxing my cards in the long run.”  Overall, Clash Royale is an addictive game that is fun for people who like strategy and for people who want to enjoy a pastime with little time commitment.
