Whitney Young and Simeon, two Chicago Public High Schools with highly touted basketball programs are teaming up to host the fourth annual Chicago Elite Classic at the UIC Pavilion. The event will be hosted December fourth and fifth, and is ranked as one of the top five high school basketball events in the country.

The event was created to bring together elite high school basketball talent from all over the country and expose the players to Chicago basketball. Also this is a huge fundraiser for Whitney Young and Simeon, whose programs fund themselves, need the money to keep their high level programs functioning.

Participating teams from Illinois include: Whitney Young, Simeon, Morgan Park, Evanston, East St. Louis, Fenwick, Larkin, Loyola, Maine South, Marian Catholic, Oak Park-River Forest, and Riverside-Brookfield. Out of state teams include: Chaminade College Preparatory, Dematha, Gonzaga, Miller Grove, Mater Dei, and St. Vincent-St. Mary.

The number one player in the country, Chaminade College Prep SF Jayson Tatum, who has committed to Duke, will be playing. Other top recruits include Dematha guards DJ Harvey and Markelle Fultz, Miller Grove standout Alterique Gilbert, Simeon sharp-shooter Zach Norvell, Morgan Park guard Charlie Moore, and Whitney Young standout wing Lucas Williamson.

The top matchup of the two days will be Simeon vs. Whitney Young at 8:30 p.m. on December 5th. You can find tickets in the School Store; get them now before they run out!
