Lacrosse Update

The boys lacrosse team got off to a surprisingly hot start this year. After losing six key starters last year, this years team didn’t have the high hopes for this season.

“We came into this year realizing that we might not be as good as we were last year, but we definitely worked hard this offseason to return to a team that could win city again,” said Ricardo Naon ’15.

Despite questionable hopes for this year, the team came out guns blazing and in only their third game of the year, they took down a strong team in St. Ignatius by a score of 8-7. Shortly after the game, they saw their state ranking go all the way up to third.

“I was a little surprised to see that we moved all the way up to third, but there is no question that it was a huge win,” said Nick Herard ’15.

After beating Lane in the City Championship last year , there is no doubt that the boys are favored to repeat, but it will also be vital for them to continue to be supported by their senior leaders, Bryce Murray and Jack Rueve.
