School temperature causes discomfort

Fluctuating school temperatures can make it hard to concentrate during class, which affects student’s educations. I find it hard to dress for school sometimes because I know I’ll be boiling in one class and shivering in another. When it’s extremely hot and you start sweating from just entering a room, there is no way to concentrate on anything else other than your discomfort. Problems also arise when it’s really cold. That said, you can just leave a jacket or hoodie in your locker to bring to those particular classes. Even though dressing in layers makes it easy to adapt to the varying temperatures, it’s still troublesome to have to do that.

Many other schools do not have the privilege of having an air conditioning and heating system, and we are lucky to have them, but it would be nice if the whole building’s temperature was consistent in all rooms. Teachers in classrooms that have temperature issues should bring it up to the administration and the building staff because there are temperature controls for every room. Although our school’s many windows are nice, the fact that there are so many is bad for insulation. This contributes to how much the school pays for heating.
