Programming season has arrived for Whitney Young students and the Curriculum Committee is creating anew, exciting, never done before class in the Whitney Young curriculum. Sadly, seniors will not be able to take advantage of this amazing course. Sucks to suck seniors! But everyone else, get ready to add the Honors How to be the Best Whitney Young Student 101 to your classes next year!

This class was created to help struggling students become the best students they can be here at our prestigious school, Whitney M. Young Magnet High School. The Curriculum Committee was specifically tasked to produce a course in which students are taught the skills and knowledge needed to uphold the Whitney Young virtue. Many parents and students have come and asked for guidance as to how to improve their performance at our top tier school. A fellow Whitney Young senior, Natalia Perez ‘19 has voiced concerns about “the rigorous school work and the hours of homework assigned.” This issue is one of the main topics that will be covered in “How to be the Best Whitney Young Student 101” One skill that is being taught in this course to help combat this previously stated issue is to learn the art of finesse and how to apply it to your academics. Whitney Young’s principal, Dr. Kenner, says, “The art of finesse is a prized skill among the most successful Whitney Young students. In order to become your principal, I had to master the art of finesse to the highest degree. If you want to be a top student at the school of champions, you will have to take this new course so you can learn the beautiful craft of finessing.”

Underclassmen interested in adding “How to be the Best Whitney Young Student 101” to their schedules next year can ask their counselors about the course during programming. Those who have already programmed, do not worry! The Curriculum Committee is committed to making sure all students have the opportunity to take this class. They will use their finessing skills to help students finesse their way into the class next year.
