January 11,2019 Lil Uzi vert told his millions of Instagram followers that he would officially be quitting his music career and going into retirement. Shaking social media, people couldn’t believe what they were reading since he is such an influential, well known artist and self-made fashion icon. People all over the world listen to Uzi’s music and were heartbroken to hear that he would no longer be making hits. But some didn’t believe it, senior Adam Surma says “it’s a publicity stunt. Solely for the means of creating more attention for the sake of his name.” I have to agree, I don’t think that he would end his music career after almost 4 years of making a name for himself and becoming such a familiar face in the media. He was supposed to drop his new album “Eternal Atake” soon but apparently, plans have changed. “I’ve been waiting for this album to drop and it’s still not here,” says freshman Xiah

         Keyshawn Aytch admitted, “ I was devastated, this whole idea is completely asinine. He can’t be serious.” Uzi has created such a platform in music but also had let the world know that it’s okay to be “weird” or different. His unique character and new “Emo Rap” genre is really what put him on the map. Aside from his music, his fashion sense is out of this world.
