Red Dead Redemption 2 Release

Ricardo Roman, Writer

The release of Red Dead Redemption 2 marks the release of one of the most anticipated video game releases to date. Take-Two Interactive (parent company of Rockstar Games) found huge success with the release of Grand Theft Auto V which became the most profitable entertainment title ever (surpassing record breaking movies such as Star Wars and Gone With The Wind). Red Dead Redemption 2 follows a gang of outlaws in the late 1800s as they take on various conflicts and have to deal with the growing modernization of the United States. This new installment of Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel to Red Dead Redemption 1 which came out over 8 years ago. Rockstar claims that it is the biggest and most detailed game they have created. “I bought it a couple days it came out and I can honestly say it is by far one of the most detailed games I have ever played” (Jorge Pantoja, Class of 2019). The game itself has a massive story mode that is said to have over 60 hours of gameplay alone with the online mode set to release sometime later this month. “Personally I am very excited to see how good the online mode is considering how good the online mode for GTA (Grand Theft Auto ) V was/is” (Braulio Cornejo, Class of 2019). “Yea after I buy the game there is no doubt in my mind I probably won’t have to buy a game for a long time” (Tristan Kenny, Class of 2021). Having sold over $725 million dollars in its opening weekend, Red Dead Redemption seems like a game that will be relevant for many years to come.
