Senior Advice to Juniors: Managing the ACT

Moriah Johnson

As you juniors know, this year you will be taking the ACT in order to get into college. Between AP classes, extracurriculars, and other important commitments, taking the ACT can seem very overwhelming. It’s one more thing you have to prepare for. In order to make the process seem less unbearable, we have great advice from the seniors on how to manage this test.

Let’s hear some advice to you from this year’s seniors:

“Figure out whatever strategy works the best for you and stick to that.” – Camryn Salter

“Do not worry about what everyone else gets; focus on yourself.” – Sierra Orr

“Taking it more than twice usually doesn’t help.” – Jacob Kosakowski

“Don’t cram studying. Get a good night’s sleep the day before.” – Amira Young

“Take a lot of practice tests so you get used to the format of test.” – Mackenzie Beckham

“Eat a really good breakfast because by the time you get to the science section, you will not have any energy.” – Aliya Brookes

My advice to you all is make sure to register early; the last fees are monstrous and unnecessary. Following these steps should make the ACT process more manageable. Always remember, a test does not define your academic abilities, and there is more to life than a test. With that being said, juniors, good luck on the ACT!
