On Wednesday, October 3rd, two quotes from the iconic teen comedy Mean Girls collided: “On Wednesdays, we wear pink.” and “On October 3rd, he asked me what day it was. It’s October 3rd,” making last Wednesday the ultimate Mean Girls Day.

Fans around the world and in Whitney Young celebrated Mean Girls Day. Elizabeth Codamon ‘21 (pictured above) dressed in pink and carried the Burn Book referencing the film.

Mean Girls is 2004 film starring Lindsay Lohan as Cady Heron, Rachel McAdams and Tina Fey. In the film, Cady tries to fit in her new school filled with cliques. She meets the Plastics, the trio of the most popular and mean girls of the school, who want her to join them. Catherine Zdunek ‘19 exclaimed, “I’ve watched the movie so many times! It’s awesome!”

Lindsay Lohan posted on Instagram of her reenacting the October 3rd scene. In her post her friend narrated, “On October 3rd, he asked me what day it was.” and she replied, “It’s October 3rd. Jonathan Bennett, Cady’s crush Aaron Samuels, posted stills and wrote “14 years ago today, I asked @lindsaylohan what day it is. #MeanGirlsDay.”

The next Wednesday, October 3rd will be in 2029, so get your outfit ready! And one last quote from Mean Girls, “Four for you Glen Coco. You go, Glen Coco! And none for Gretchen Weiners, bye!”
