As DubTV draws its fifth year to a close, an idea was created. To make a retrospective of the history of DubTV, and to look forward to the future. To bring together DubTV students new and old, and to honor achievement in student television.

That idea has now become the Dubbies, a live event that will be recorded and then shown on DubTV as part of the senior’s last episode. All the stops will be pulled out: a red carpet, miniature awards we bought over internet, and DubTV cast/class members both old and new.

“We’re really working hard to get the Dubbies up and running” said Camille Argentar ‘18. Students have been working on the script, logistics, and background videos for the show. While some aspects are still up in the air, the rumoured date is 5th and 6th period on the 30th, although the location (it’s currently between the library and the theater) will be clarified in future.

For all those available, as the time nears, you are invited to sit in the audience as an extra for the Dubbies. As Chris Nyugen ‘18 says “We’re really excited for the Dubbies, and what it’s gonna mean for the future of DubTV.” Although this is the first annual Dubbies, the students have high hopes that there will be more Dubbies in the future.
