Cofounded by Angel Silva and Joshua Schoonmaker, March of Dimes club meets every other Monday after school in room 315 (email [email protected] for more details). But more importantly, our goal, aside from the mutual purpose of the organization, is to organize the best fundraisers that will be fun and beneficial for everyone involved. In addition to this, we also have merchandise available to everyone, including pens, pins, wristbands, and shirts.

Of course, the typical, smaller fundraisers aren’t the most interesting nor are they the only way we raise money. If you were at school November 17, you probably saw an exposition set up on the arts bridge all day. Not only did this event bring us to a grand total of $400 raised for the organization, but it was also incredibly enjoyable for all volunteers involved (especially since it had them signed out for almost the whole school day), but it led to a lot of satisfied customers. And now, we invite you not only to join our club, but to indulge in our upcoming fundraisers:

Beginning this month (with the organization being called March of Dimes and all), tea will be sold in blue house every Tuesday. There will be various kinds, including white, green, jasmine, and peppermint, and will be available from 3rd period all the way to 7th. Look for us set up on Tuesdays. “I’ll be there with EJ [Montero, ‘18] during 5th period. Come show some support!” -Sara Woods, ‘18.

In addition to this, divisions will have a coin box in the room for the entire month. By the end of the month, we will be weighing (not counting up monetary value, but weighing) each box. Whichever division has the heaviest will win a pizza party! So make sure to toss in any spare coins (especially dimes, of course) that you’re looking to get rid of.

All members of the club look forward to seeing growth of the club and we’re all hoping to reach our goal of at least a thousand dollars raised by the end of the year! “I’m sure with all of the events of the second semester, especially the Taste, we can reach our goal. We just need consistent support and success,” says Keila Vega, ‘18.
