Last Minute Spring Break Trips

Spring Break is less than four weeks away, and many students are getting excited for a much needed vacation. While some kids are getting ready for awesome, tropical destinations, or exotic locations, others are just getting ready for a staycation. If you are one of these unfortunate students, the Beacon has researched some affordable, last minute spring break trips.

If you like the South:

Atlanta is one of the best cities in the South. They have a pretty young population, good restaurants, a cool aquarium, and the Coca-Cola factory. Ellie Lynch 18’ says “I’ve never been to Atlanta, but I’ve heard it’s really nice.” We found an affordable flight for just $206. We found a 3 star hotel that is just $113 per night. While you are there, you can visit the botanical gardens, or taste beverages from all around the world at the Coca-Cola factory.

If you just want to chill in another city:

Dallas is another city that is often overlooked. Texas’ cities are really up and coming because of the recent influx of twenty somethings moving there. We found a flight for a quick, three night stay for just $194. Beacon found a decent Marriott, that’s near downtown for just $84 a night. While you’re there, we recommend eating. They have tons of awesome restaurants and food tours like the S’more Chocolate Tour for just $43.

If you want to relax:

Nothing is better than a chill road trip with a few friends. Allison Mitola 18’ says “I would love to go to the lake with my friends.” If you just want a quick, weekend getaway, find a driver, grab some snacks and hit the road. We found a Lakeview cottage for just $143 per night. Drive down, soak up the sun, and enjoy the lake activities.

If you like history:

If you prefer history filled vacations in urban locations, you can visit Boston. We have found a long weekend flight for just $202, along with a decent, central hotel for just $112 a night. Boston is one of the country’s oldest cities, and you can enjoy the beautiful architecture and long history. See a Red Sox game at Fenway Park, ride the charming subway cars, or walk down the cobblestoned streets.
