Netflix Guru

Isabel Shanahan

As a teenager in the modern age I watch a lot of Netflix. It’s a nice escape after a day of dealing with school, Poms, friend drama, and stupid high school boys. Coming home at 8pm after a four hour practice leaves me wanting to do one thing. I can escape the present and drift into a magical make believe world of romance, humor, and action. After watching all this Netflix I feel particularly qualified to tell you what it is you should be watching the next time you are procrastinating on one of those 4 million papers that are due this week. This is my guide to what to watch as a tired, overworked teenager.

First on this list is just about the best show in the history of shows, The Office. This show makes you laugh no matter how hectic your life is. It shows you how to make

the best of your situation and is just overall hilarious.

The next one is iconic and a true crowd pleaser, Friends. With all the various personalities there is something for everyone and you will laugh out loud at least once every episode. Dan Rusca ’18 describes it as a “instant classic”.

Coming in at number 3 is Vampire Diaries. Although not for everyone, this show is great for a sappy or dramatic night where you want to escape to the world of hot vampires.

Number 4 is a recently released show called the End of the F***king world. This show starts of in a very strange way but as it goes on, you begin to fall in love with their characters. A true binge-worthy show. Lorenzo ’19 says, “I haven’t seen it, but sounds really cool.”

This last one is for the true romantics, it’s called Lovesick. This is a cute love story about two best friends that is really funny and really well put together. The actors are all British and let’s face it, the accent makes everything better.

I hope I have served you well as a Netflix Guru and I’m excited to return and once again give you the latest on what to watch on Netflix.
