Top 5 Christmas Movies To Watch This December

Kellianne Bazzell

1: Home Alone (2)

Almost every kid of our generation has seen this movie at least once. Home Alone and its sequel are and always will be Christmas classics. Even with two whole movies, it’s hard to grow tired of the series’ slapstick comedy and memorable lines such as, “Merry Christmas ya filthy animal” or “Kevin”!

2: Elf

Not much can beat Will Ferrell, Christmas, and spaghetti with chocolate syrup and sprinkles. Ferrell’s comedic talent shines throughout this whole movie as he eats gum off subway railings, repeatedly runs through revolving doors, and sings practically every five minutes.

3: Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas

The cartoon movie has been enjoyed for generations now but I also recommend the live action version. Jim Carrey makes a very funny Grinch with his crazy antics like screaming at his own echo.

3: Rudolph

You just can’t have Christmas without Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. The stop motion style animation is not something you get to see everyday and the movie carries a reminiscent retro feel to it.

4: A Charlie Brown Christmas

Again, this movie has likely been watched by most of the kids of our generation whether it be at home, or when our elementary school teachers put it on the day before we went on winter break. Generations of people have enjoyed Snoopy’s crazy antics and the movie’s classic soundtrack.

5: A Christmas Story

This movie may have not be as well known as some other Christmas movies nowadays, however, it’s still in this top 5 for its great comedy. Watch this movie and you’ll walk away with a lot of great quotes like, “Fragile” or “You’ll shoot your eye out!”
