Over the last 2 decades some of the world has accepted the fact that the National Basketball Association is worse than it used to be. There may be many reasons as to why we’ve seen such a drop in performance and entertainment. Here are 5 reasons that are not entirely responsible for the drop in performance and entertainment but play a role in it.

Reason number 1 is the drastic drop in competition. This is really important because some games can be a complete blow outs and some teams literally have no talent or one talented player. So it is hard to have the Utah Jazz compete against Lebron James and the Cavaliers. Two decades ago the games used to be so tough and hard fought, and every team had some talent and a game could go either way.

Reason number 2 is the refereeing. The game used to be so tough back in the day and fouls were almost rare in some games. The crowd would be so thrilled and excited watching their team clash against the opponent.

But now a player can literally stand next to someone and not touch them and the referee will call a flagrant 2 foul on them; it’s tragic.

Reason number 3 is that flopping is so common around the league. Faking a call is almost a skill now in the league. Everyone, does it and almost all the all stars in the league do it, too; Its terrible and it needs to be a crime against society.

Reason number 4 is the lack of energy. The game speed is slow and the attitude of some players are nonchalant and the players comes off as being too cool and this attitude is being passed on to the younger generation.

Reason number 5 is the influence that AAU has on has on the NBA. Players feed into the hype of being called a top prospect and their own stats that they “kill” the team’s overall play. These are just a few reason why the NBA is worse than it was 20 years ago. Lets just hope it doesn’t get any worse.
