Student Spotlight: Josh Nakashima

Josh Nakashima is a sophomore and is a great teammate on the volleyball court. He volunteers his time through the National Junior Honor Society. He uses his musical talents serenades girls with his piano and guitar. I had the opportunity to ask him some questions about himself.
What neighborhood you reside in?
The neighborhood that I live in is Bridgeport.
What year you graduate?
The year that I am expected to graduate is in 2019.
What is the best part about being a Dolphin?
The best part about Whitney Young are the students that go to the school. Everyone is very friendly, smart, and competitive.
What is the worst part of being a Dolphin?
The worst part about being a Dolphin is that you can not breathe on land.
What is an adversity you have had to deal with?
Having no paper towels in the bathroom. I had to wipe it on my pants.
What are your plans for the future?
In the future, I plan to become successful in a career in optometry.
What is an interest that you have developed?
An interest that I have developed is volleyball. I am a part of Whitney Young’s JV volleyball team.
What is an undeveloped interests?
I just started watching hockey and I find the sport exciting.
What do you spend the most time on that others might not consider productive?
I spend many nights playing Overwatch on the computer. It is a very fun game where I can play against random people online.
What is a particular memory/incident you have from your time in high school?
I remember it was a miracle when there were paper towels in the bathroom.
If you hadn’t been a Dolphin, where would you have gone to HS and how would that have impacted your life?
If I had not attended Whitney Young, most likely I would have attended UIC college prep. As a result, I would not be as intelligent as I am today
