Why Not Postmates?

Vanessa McKibben

Have you ever been having a good time with some friends and wanted to grab a bite without having to go out? Maybe you and your buds can just order something online. Oh! That Chinese place down the street doesn’t have a site to deliver from. How about Grubhub? They’ve got plenty of places that deliver. Dang! You’re favorite pizza place has a twenty dollar minimum. Alright, a few bumps, but maybe it won’t be so bad to just grab some snacks from your local Walmart. Ugh! But you really don’t want to have to drive there and none of your friends want to go out either. What if you could just pay someone to pick things up for you? They could get stuff from anywhere for you; just pay them for the items and for their services. What if I told you there was an app for that, it’s called Postmates.

Postmates is like Uber, but for shopping! You can buy food from a 7-Eleven, get some candy from the gas station on the corner, or get someone to pick up your carry out order from Olive Garden. Postmates is simple and easy; you just pick where you want your postmate to go, give instructions of what to buy or pick up, and wait for your postmate to bring you your goodies. Why use Ubereats when they only get you things from restaurants? Why use Grubhub when they only have select restaurants? Use Postmates! They go wherever you need and get whatever you want.

Postmates is quick and reliable; it can get you anything, anywhere. Don’t believe me? Former Whitney Young student, Vincent McKibben, says “Now that I go to
IMSA, I can’t always get food from wherever I want. IMSA being a boarding school for high school students has a lot of rules where I can’t really pick things up either. So I just use Postmates when I really want something, it’s pretty convenient.” Even in the middle of Nowhere, Illinois, Postmates comes through. Marzena Kowalczyk, ‘17, tells us “Postmates is super convenient! When I want something from 7-Eleven but don’t to walk half a mile, I just open up the app.” See, Postmates is perfect for Whitney kids on lazy days. Even YouTube star, Swoozie, exclaimed in one of his videos, “Postmates is life!” Clearly, everyone loves Postmates! So stop waiting to see if Little Caesars will ever start delivering, just call a postmate and enjoy yourself
