Tangerine Dream

Whether they’re sweet, sour, tangy, or tart you can never go wrong when picking a tangerine to eat. This delectable treat is an orange-colored citrus fruit that is a hybrid of mandarin oranges and pomelo, another citrus fruit that is eaten mainly in Southeast Asia.

The peel of tangerines is one of the best aspects of them; not only are they one of the easiest to peel by hand but they also are a nice addition to the flesh of the fruit. If you’re not satisfied after finishing your delicious snack then you could save the peels for the side – yum !

We asked some students about their opinions on the fruit and here were their responses:

Jack Fleck, ‘22, exclaims, “I love tangerines. Before I go on my daily run I always try to stock up on tangerines which give me a good boost of energy.”

“I hate tangerines. When I was like 5 I was peeling a tangerine cause I was hungry and I pressed too hard and so some of the juice squirted into my eyes. I haven’t eaten a tangerine since. ” says Ellison Richardson, ‘21.

Jeremy Cho, ‘20, argued, “Tangerines are good, but oranges are obviously better. Oranges are bigger and sweeter.”

Whatever your preference tangerines are a nutritious fruit to snack on.
