Every school year students are able to express themselves through school spirit. Schools tend to have days that cause the students to welcome their creativity and create days where students can have fun. Here at Whitney Young we have Spirit Week for homecoming. During this year’s Spirit Week there was PJ Day, Twin Day, Throwback Day, and Class Color Day. Throughout Spirit Week we asked students what their favorite thing about Spirit Week was and why.

Daisy Guzmán 20’ stated, “I love that we get excited for homecoming and that we get ready together and that we come all colorful to school. I love the hype and excitement as we approach the dance.” Spirit Week for most schools usually lead up to the homecoming dance. Students seem to always be excited for the homecoming dance and they tend to dress up and show their excitement for it.

As said by Adela Mihaela Jianu 22’, “ I would say Spirit Week is my favorite and getting all hyped up for everything.” Meanwhile Alondra L Varilla 24’ said, “My favorite day of the Spirit Week day was game day because everyone was able to have fun and everyone represented the school. It was just a fun day overall.”

Overall Spirit Week here at Whitney Young was filled with amazing eventful events that students will remember.
