African American article

The African American individual I have selected is my mother, Dana Hatter. Dana grew up in a household of with her mother and father and a older brother and older sister. She went to 7 middle school until she went to high school where she attended Bogan High School. And once she finished high school she attended University of Colorado where she received her major in business management. I asked her about her school life and she said,” It was hard moving a round so much because of me still being a kid, I had to continuously make new friends and it made life a lot harder. Once she got out her degree, she went back to school to get a degree in child education where she succeeded. When she finally got out of college she started her own daycare on the south side of Chicago which thrives for many years until she decided to move on. She began to teach 6-8th graders for years to come because of her love for children and seeing them do well. A quote from Ms. Hatter says,” I have such a true love for seeing children do better, that I knew teaching was the job for me and i was so glad to get my degree in child education.” She is a great person who is compassionate, hard-working and enthusiastic and a nice person to know. Overall Dana Hatter is a strong minded woman who I’m grateful for and everyday she is doing something she loves, helping children.
