Jonathan Swain has been a part of the Whitney Young community for 6 years. He was accepted into the Academic Center in 7th grade along with me, the writer of this article Mauricio Angelito.

He is very artistically talented in multiple ways. Some of his accomplishments is being a 2 year plus member of Chicago Children’s Choir, as well as achieving the highest level of our school choir chamber. Mario Martinez ‘19 “Jonathan is one of the most talented singer I know”

Jonathan is also planning on going to art school either in Chicago or California. He has made multiple clothing items, utility pieces and even some furniture such as a table with a magnetic top. Jonathan is a very kind hearted person, with such an approachable vibe. He is often dressed in earth tones with a minimalist look, but when a special occasion arises he is very informed and wearing latest in the Hip-hop scene. Braulio Cornejo ‘19 “Jonathan outfits are always on point”

His taste in music range from classical, being able to play the piano, to hip-hop such as Kanye West, Vic mensa, Chance the rapper and many other artist.
