Lollapalooza Line-Up Announced

On the morning of Wednesday, March 22, the line-up for Lollapalooza was released. The headliners for this year are Chance the Rapper, Muse, the Killers and Arcade Fire. These artists alone have already made so many people very excited for the summer festival. Other notable performers include blink-182, Lorde, Cage the Elephant, and Run the Jewels. Also on the line-up are Charli XCX, Tove Lo, Jon Bellion, Foster the People, Big Sean, Wiz Khalifa, along with other lesser known artists like Cloud Nothings, Young Bombs, Dirty Audio, The Shelters, Crystal Castles, Little Dragon and The Districts. A total of 170 artists are planned to play (see the picture below for the entire line up). Unfortunately, The Weeknd will not be one of those artists performing as was reported by other music sources.

This line-up has most likely been the most talked about topic this week. The opinions on this year’s line-up ran all the way up and down the spectrum. Some people are very pleased with this line-up; “CHANCE THE [FREAKING] RAPPER!” Rose Sosnowski, ‘19, put simply.

Others not so much. “I mean, it’s not my favorite line-up,” another student, a junior who wished to remain anonymous, said.

And some were very neutral about the whole thing; “There are a lot of artists playing that I’ve never heard of,” claimed Brad Isada ‘18. The general consensus, however, is that people have high hopes for Lollapalooza 2017 and believe that it will be a huge and spectacular event, as always.

The annual Chicago summer mega fest will be in Grant Park and, even though it starts August 3, four-day GA passes have already been sold out. Single day tickets are available for purchase now, but will most likely also get sold out very very soon as well. So, if you’re planning to get a ticket, you better act fast!

Update: All general admission tickets have been sold out. The only tickets still available now are VIP, Platinum, and Hotel Package tickets. However, if you are still interested and are able to, VIP single day tickets are $650 with everything else (VIP four day, Platinum tickets, and Hotel Packages) all costing well over $2,200. Unfortunately, if you do not have a ticket by now, it seems you have missed your chance but there is always next year, just remember to act faster in 2018!
