WY summer plans

Claire Fahey

With summer fast approaching, many students find themselves scrambling with something to do over the three months of break. As tempting as it can be to spend all summer on the couch binge-watching Netflix or getting sunburned on the lakefront, the summer is a great time to make some money or connections, or just generally be productive! Here are three WY students who aremoving outside of their comfort zones this summer.

Jonathan Eng-Working at Wrigley Field

Q-What are you doing this summer?

A-“Working at Wrigley Field as a FanFoto photographer.”

Q-How did you get this opportunity?

A-“I heard about the job from a fellow senior, Rachel Brown who worked there last year, and since baseball is one of my favorite sports I thought it’ll be a cool and fun job for the summer.”

Q-What do you do every time you go to work?

A-“I show up two hours before the first pitch, 30 minutes before the gates open to set up my equipment (camera, uniform, etc.), and during the time between fans coming into the stadium and the first pitch I take pictures of them in front of Wrigley’s historic backdrop. Once the game starts, I go back in and pick up the photos I took and walk up to the fans trying to sell them the packages. A typical day of sales would be around $350.”

Q- What is your favorite part about your job?

A-“My favorite part of the job is working at Wrigley Field during the Cubs season. It allows me to watch all the games during the season and also sit in some of the best seats in the stadium.”
