Did you ever want to have ice cream for dinner? “Salt and Straw” recently came out with new Thanksgiving themed ice cream flavors. The flavors include Roasted Cranberry Sauce Sorbet, Sweet Potato Casserole with Maple Pecans, Roasted Peach and Sage Cornbread Stuffing, and Spiced Goat Cheese and Pumpkin Pie. There is even a Salted Caramel Thanksgiving Turkey dinner option.
These flavors might not be for everyone but there are people that do enjoy them. The closest locations consist of California, Washington, and Oregon. The ice cream comes in 5-10 gallon containers but the price is hefty to get shipped. What’s the right price for ice cream? Katie Li ‘19 said, “The price of ice cream should be affordable because treats should be for everyone. A pint should cost $5 maximum.” Some people are spending $100 in order to get a taste of this specially crafted ice cream. Dylan Comerford ‘19 declares, “I would not spend that much money for ice cream and besides I’m lactose intolerant so I don’t eat ice cream anyway.” They must be selling big time since the demand is heavy for these interesting ice cream flavors to get sent all over the United States.
The company is proud of their latest creations. They encourage everyone to take a lick of the limited time flavors. “Stop in to try our full, five-course menu of ice cream flavors that incorporate ingredients of a traditional Thanksgiving feast, down to the bird!” Hopefully their postings draw even more attention to this treat! So this Thanksgiving, along with your typical meal, try the “Salt and Straw’s” sweet ice cream meal as well!
