Before you Say Yes

Being a senior comes with making tons of tough decisions. For most seniors, the hardest is picking the college or university that you’ll spend the next four to five years of your life at. Here’s some important things to keep in mind when you make this decision:

Course Rigor:

Consider what you can and can’t handle. You don’t want to attend an institution that doesn’t challenge you academically. If you’re not at least a little uncomfortable your classes are probably too easy. To be prepared for the field you plan on going into, you want to make sure you’re challenged throughout your academic career. However, this should be a healthy challenge. Don’t push yourself to the edge.

Financing your Education:

Everyone knows how expensive college can be in America. While you’ll obviously want to pursue a quality education, it is important to consider how you will pay for college. Applying for financial aid and scholarships can assist with expenses, but if the money isn’t enough, you might have to take out private loans. This should be your last option. While an education is important, so is good credit.

Comfortability:

Not every school is for everyone. An uncomfortable social scene or campus can really take a toll on any college student’s experience. This is why it is important to visit schools. A visit can ensure that the school environment will complement your college experience.

Applying to college can be stressful and once accepted, making the right choice can be hard, but be sure to take at least these few things into consideration before you say yes. It’ll only help. Good luck!
