The lottery is a big deal to the society we live in. People take on the lottery as if their lives depend on it. The reason people go crazy over the lottery is because people want money and want to be rich. The whole world is revolved around money and without that then people really have no point of living.

The lottery for those who don’t know is a government lead activity that has the means of raising money by selling numbered tickets and giving prizes to the ticket number holders. The prizes can range to over millions of dollars and the high the dollar amount then the crazier the people get over buying tickets. There was one instance where the dollar amount for the lottery was almost close to a billion dollars and if you were around for that time that instance then you can remember that the people were wild over getting tickets.

I asked some people around the school about what would the first thing that they would buy with the prize that they received. I recently talked to Moriah Johnson ‘18 and I asked her what would she buy and why. “I would buy a Venus Flytrap because they are super cool and I would take care of it and love it so much.” I also asked Celeste Mora ‘18 the same question. “I would buy a house because it would be a good investment in the long run.” Well there you guys go!
