Recently Whitney Young seniors went on prom at the Drake Hotel! Prom is a big event for not only Whitney Young but for the seniors across the city. It’s a night where seniors are able to reflect on a great year coming to a close by dressing up and looking their best and dancing the night away with all of their bestest friends.

This year the life of the party was at the Drake Hotel and the theme of prom was, “Great Gatsby”. There was a lot of amazing people who unleashed their outfits that stole the show. I know all the seniors had a blast at prom because I know I did.

I talked to Jake Kosakowski ‘18 about how prom was to him and what he thought of the great night. “Prom was more than I thought it would be. Everyone looked great and there was no bad outfits throughout the night. I was impressed with a lot of people but overall the night with all of my closest friends just capped everything off like a cherry on top of the cream.” Also, I talked with Camryn Salter ‘18 about her insight of prom and how her night was as well. “My night was outstanding! Everyone looked very beautiful and I was able to spend the night dancing with all of my great friends and I was lucky to have my cousin, Yara Shahidi, be my date for the night and she loved everything about prom as well!’

It sounds like another great night for the Whitney Young seniors in the books and also another prom night was successful! Thank you to the student council for making this happen and the administration as well! Tune in next year for the 2019 prom!
