Importance of sending in song requests for prom

Mireya Alejo

Have you ever been to a party, and all of the songs were dry? Well, don’t let that happen on a memorable night like prom. A little less than 3 weeks away, it’s important to send in your song requests quickly. Everyone wants to have a great time dancing to their favorite songs, but if everyone doesn’t get in their requests, we will be stuck with whatever songs Mrs. El-Amin wants. Nobody wants to hear that. With all of the new songs that have been dropped recently, there are plenty of options to choose from. Hits like “Nice For What” and “Who Run It” are ready to be played on June 1st. According to Jairus Silmon ‘18, “Without the song requests, prom wouldn’t be any fun.” This will be one of our last chances to turn up with the whole class. Prom is a place to bring people together, and music is a universal language. Tyree Beard ‘18 agreed by saying “everyone has their own preferences, and prom is for everyone so these requests will insure we’re all represented.” Our school is based off of diversity, and this will be represented not only through the people  who attend but also through the songs that will be played at prom.
