This week in sneakers features big brand Adidas. The sneaker culture is one that is constantly changing and evolving. My name is Christian Lovett and bi-weekly I write a column on everything sneaker related. I enjoy the sneaker community and I have a wide variety of shoes in my own collection.

Adidas seems to constantly be cooking up great shoes week after week. This past weekend(March 16th), Adidas released 3 pairs of Pharrell Human Race NMDs. The colorways were based off of the “Holi Festival” in India. Holi Festival is a day signifying good over evil and is also known as the “Festival of Colors.” The shoes were lively in their own ways. One shoe featured an all black upper but the accents were purple and a bold font on the middle front of the shoe. The other two shoes featured uppers that could be related to a tie dye type of silhouette. Sneaker enthusiast William Rosado ‘18 said “I like the pack and how they utilized a galaxy type of theme.” I asked shoe connoisseur Emeka Anosike ‘18 about the shoes and if he knew the background and reasoning of the shoes. He said, “I had no clue that it was based off of a festival in India until you told me. I do know that I will be attempting to cop the shoes in hopes for rocking them.” I personally will attempt to get at least one pair out of the pack because they are not like other shoes you’d see people wear. The sneakers’ release date is March 16th, 2018 at select Adidas retailers and carriers like Saint Alfred. Each shoe retails for $220 USD. Below you can find an image of all three sneakers apart of the “Holi Festival Pack.”
