All-Time Boston Celtics
February 1, 2018
The Boston Celtics have been one of the winningest franchises in NBA history, so I decided to make an all-time list of the Celtics top 5 players at each position. So who made the cut? Here is the Celtics All-Time 5:
PG: Bob Cousy
The NBA’s very first ball handling wizard, Cousy consistently made defenders look silly. He was the keg that led the early Celtics to 5 championships.
SG: John Havlicek
“Havlicek stole the ball!” Famous for his series clinching steal in the 1965 Eastern Conference Finals, the Ohio State University product won and astounding 8 championships with Boston.
SF: Larry Bird
One of the purest shooters that the NBA has ever seen, the Indiana State Sycamore was both cocky and clutch. In one of his more famous moments, he said that he would win and the delivered a win in the inaugural 3-Point Contest. Bird won 3 championships.
PF: Paul Pierce
The Truth. Known to hit a dagger or two himself, Paul pierce was a stud during his time with the Celtics, as he and his “Big 3” won a championship in 2008.
C: Bill Russell
The ultimate winner. In a still unmatched feat, Russell won 11 championships in a 13 season span while playing in Boston.
The hick from the French lick as he was called, Larry Birf.
