The legendary DubTV group that produces hit show Chef Terik came back with even more quality content in the form of a PSA with their most recent segment on DubTV.(GIVE DATE)  Opening with a shot of Marco Garcia 18’ eating what he described as, “a delicious rib,” the segment takes a strange turn when the familiar theme to The Pink Panther begins to play. Out of nowhere, Yen Lee, 18’, wearing a hoodie to conceal his face, in his words, “hits a fat stain,” and grabs the rib. He then runs off around the corner, leaving poor Marco without a lunch.

The PSA goes on to show increasingly complex and elaborate scenes of theft, but the real reason to not steal can be observed from this first scene alone. Not only did this shot establish the overall theme of the segment, stealing, but we also get some insight into the emotional effects of theft. Through expert camerawork and editing, we know that the rib was important to Marco and he was certainly enjoying it. Marc Jiang, 18’, said “I felt really bad for Marco. It looked like he was really enjoying that rib.” When Lee takes the rib, Marco is left with nothing and all he can do is wish he had the rib as he licks the little sauce he still has left from his fingers. Marco is distraught and cannot believe someone would do this to him. But Marco is not alone; victims of theft around the world feel the exact same way. The PSA as a whole expertly captures and showcases the process and its damaging effects.
