YouTube superstar, Logan Paul has amassed over 15 million subscribers and has quickly become one of the most famous “YouTubers” on the platform. However, Mr.Paul has now made a grave mistake,he decided to travel to Japan’s “Suicide forest”, a forest where over 200 people have committed suicide in the last 10 years. However, during Logan Paul’s trip, he decided to film a suicide victim and post it on YouTube for the world to see. In the video Logan can be seen laughing with his friends and making jokes about the situation. This thoughtless action has been met with much backlash. Logan Paul has an audience that is primarily children and there is a concern that exposure to a dead body could result in traumatized kids. Zoe Ariyama’18 says, “these disrespectful actions should not be normalized and he has a huge following that he is influencing.” The video of the body has since been deleted but it has already caused it’s damage. While this is the most publicized result from Logan Paul’s Japan trip it is not his only instance of questionable behavior. In other “Vlogs” Logan can be seen sneezing hysterically in public, placing fishes on vehicles, throwing Pokémon balls at pedestrians, and simply being a public nuisance. Logan has since issued an apology, but his actions has not come without consequences. YouTube has decided to cancel Logan’s show from their YouTube Red program as a response to the recent controversy.
