Hayward Injury

Gordon Hayward suffered a season ending injury in the first few minutes in his Celtics Debut. While going up for a alley-oop pass, Hayward collided with Lebron James upon him coming down from the attempt. Hayward came down hard and awkwardly dislocating his ankle, fracturing his tibia. Players initially walked away from Hayward to allow the doctors to tend to Hayward’s injury. Once they felt it appropriate, players like Lebron James and Hayward’s teammates came over to comfort him. On twitter many people have sent their prayers out to Hayward. They hope for a speedy, easy recovery for the young star as well as a great future. Veronica Perkins, ‘18, stated,”It’s tragic that he is suffering from an injury this early in the season.” Many of Hayward’s fans feel the same way because he had a promising future for this season.

Angel Davis, ‘19, stated,” Gordon Hayward’s injury reminds me of Paul George’s tragic injury.” This has been a common opinion among many NBA fans after witnessing Hayward’s downfall. Hopefully, like George, Hayward can make a great comeback after recovering from his injury and continue the great career that he started a few years back.
