Kevin Spacey Sexual Assault

If you’ve ever seen House of Cards, American Beauty, or Horrible Bosses, then you’ve probably seen Kevin Spacey on screen. Even if you haven’t seen any of those productions, then you might have heard of him in the news recently.

In an interview with Buzzfeed, late october, fellow actor Anthony Rapp admitted to being sexually assaulted by actor Kevin Spacey during their time performing on broadway in 1986. At this time Rapp was only fourteen years old, and Spacey was much older. Thirty years later this secret has made it to the public’s eye, in a time when many other members of the entertainment industry are doing the same.

Once confronted with this accusation Spacey did what he believed to be the right thing to do, and apologized, in the form of a tweet.

In this tweet, Spacey took this as an opportunity to come out of the closet, distracting attention from the issue of the sexual assault. Joe Radinsky ‘19 said, “ A closeted childhood is not an excuse for this kind of behavior in an adult,” when asked about his feelings on this issue.

Kevin Spacey has received a lot of backlash calling out his behavior.
