Super Slimey

Just 10 days ago, major Hip-Hop artists, Future and Young Thug released their first ever collab mixtape titled Super Slimey. This mixtape wasn’t very hyped because the production of it was not made very public by the artists. This drop is a follow up to their hit song Relationship released on Young Thug’s last album Beautiful Thugger Girls. Fans were craving a new masterpiece and these brilliant artists delivered.

I enjoyed much of the music on this  mixtape, but most of the songs sound the same. They incorporate fast beats and similar subjects in the majority of the songs. That is not to say that they aren’t good. I enjoy most of the songs and because it sounds like music one would hear at a party. It gets me excited to dance when I listen to these songs. My favorite upbeat songs are Patek Water, No Cap, and All da Smoke.

There are also a few songs that differ in sound. My favorite of these, and my favorite on the entire mixtape, is Killed Before, a solo by Young Thug. Thug slowed this song down and incorporated a melody into it. Although the content isn’t the best, the song still sounds the best out of the entire tracklist. Some fans I interviewed voiced similar opinions.

“Killed Before is honestly my favorite because it’s so different from the other songs. However, the mixtape as a whole is still fire.” -Omar Bah ‘19

Overall, I would rate this mixtape an eight out of ten. I would definitely suggest listening to it, even if you aren’t a fan of  Future and Young Thug. I feel this mixtape will change your opinion of them.
