As fall continues, so does city championship season. The boys cross country team had their city championships this Monday, October 17th.  The frosh/soph team came in third behind Jones and Lane while the Open team did an amazing job.  The varsity team came away with a 1st place win for the third time in a row!  Led by Clayton Mendez, ‘18, who took first, the team had a close victory over Jones, only winning by five points. Sam Rivera ,‘19 and Charlie Nevins ‘19 took second and third consecutively.  Luke Lasley, ‘19 and Keaton Schwartz, ‘19 came in after Charlie. Rahul Mikkilineni ‘18 and Spencer Nelson, ‘19 finished as sixth and seventh man respectively.  When the results were announced, the team rejoiced their third consecutive city championship. Luke Somerville ‘18 had this to say about this feat, “The team is feeling great, and with the amazing crowd that came out today, we are very happy with this win”  The course was very muddy as a result of heavy rainfall on Saturday and part of the course was altered due to flooding in some areas.  The team is in high spirits as they look towards Regionals on October 21st at the first part of their state series.
