How to have the best fall season!

Celeste Mora

Friday, September 22nd was the first day of the fall season. It was a whopping 88 degrees that day, but have no fear, the colder fall weather is near. Emily Hickman’s ‘18 favorite season is Fall, because “fall clothes is the best! Flannels and hoodies are so comfy and I love grabbing a pumpkin spice latte on the way to school!” Fall isn’t just about the overflow of pumpkin spice products, there is also a ton of seasonal festivities to do during the weekend.

The perfect time to visit Six Flags Great America is during the September and October months because the park is centered around Halloween. During this time the park is known as ‘Fright Fest’, the workers are dressed in costumes and have scary props like saws and hammers. But no worries, they won’t hurt you, they’ll just give you a great scare! It’s a great activity to do with your friends, especially if you go on Fridays after 6pm for coasters after dark when the roller coasters go backwards and some glow in the dark.

If you don’t feel like spilling out $60 on a Six Flags ticket you can also try gathering your friends and going pumpkin picking in Tinley Park, Illinois. Odyssey Fun Farm is a pumpkin patch that has been open for the past 40 years providing memorable experiences. You can feed the horses, pick a pumpkin and take it home as a souvenir.  The coolest thing they have is a huge corn maze that you can either do in the afternoon or late at night.
