Last homecoming for 6 year students

Erica Roy

Time flies, especially in high school. It’s feels like just yesterday I was an ackie in complete awe at my first pep rally. Now, the class of 2018 are seniors, and my fellow frackies are finishing up their six year high school journey. Since 2012, homecoming has always been the day students are most proud to be Dolphins. This day is a time for school spirit, laughs, dressing up, and a full week of fun. As a former academic center student, or “frackie”, the day of the homecoming game was a familiar routine. Everyone dressed in orange and blue, watched a fantastic pep rally, then went to the football game to lead up to our homecoming dance. This year, things went a little different. Some students were disappointed by the changes but to me, as a six year student, it was refreshing. Being the last homecoming, it was very nostalgic for frackie seniors. Camryn Salter ‘18 said it best, noting,“To me, it feels like just yesterday i was in 7th grade being nervous to come to my first homecoming game, and I can’t believe this is our last one ever.” Our last, very unique and special homecoming will be the start to a great year to wrap up the long, but such short six years.
