Do’s and don’ts of homecoming

Brooke Gist

Homecoming Spirit Week can be one of the most fun-filled weeks you will have in your school year or one of the most stressful. It is very easy for the outcome to go either way. Here are some “do’s and “don’ts” so everyone’s week can be on the positive side of that outcome.

Do dress up for Spirit Days. Although it may seem silly, try to participate in all the days the whole school dresses up. “You will feel more out of place and silly if you don’t dress up” says Madeline Mortell ‘18.

Don’t stay home for the dance or the game. Even if you don’t like dressing up or being in a sports and outdoor environment, still come. It is a great time to make memories with your friends.

Do take a lot of pictures. When you are feeling down or stressed throughout the year, you can look at pictures from the homecoming week and get a laugh or a smile to help you get what you need to get down.

Don’t put off any homework or procrastinate. Homework and school doesn’t stop during one of the best weeks of the year. If it comes down to a paper that you got assigned a week before the due date, don’t wait an hour before the dance to do it. Keep the motto  “Work hard, play hard.” in mind while you are managing your time.

Be safe and have fun homecoming week! Gooooooo Dolphins!
