The recent 2017 Apple releases have caused a stir amongst customers.  Some consumers have been able to overlook the high retail price of $1,000 due to the sleek new design, while others don’t think the price is justified by the product. From an improved engine to a higher quality camera and even a new wireless charging station, the idea that the “future is here” has managed to sell the product to customers worldwide.  However, the future of the world and Apples begins with young consumers.  Some of the students from Whitney Young had a few opinions on this pricey “future.”   Jake Koz ‘18, isn’t sure the new phone is worth the price. “I feel like Apple’s new releases of phones is oversaturating the technology industry, it’s forcing people who want to feel hip to waste money on small upgrades to a phone when Apple isn’t even giving people what they really want most of the time. They’re cool  no doubt, but overall it’s probably a waste of money to be consistently getting the new version.”

With all these new technological advances, the younger generation seems to be underwhelmed with the products.  It appears as though the company has not been able to meet the requests that would be worth the price of the new IPhone X.  Brooke Irvin ‘18, also called the release “irrelevant” because Apple failed to “include the updates people actually want.”

Although Apple almost never fails to impress the world with revolutionary change,  the Whitney Young and Twitter community has expressed a common theme of disappointment with  the current lack of improvement  with the phones’ Facetime and shatterproof casings.  The younger community may not be  impressed until their requests are fulfilled.
